The department of media and mass communication at the American International University–Bangladesh organised a training of trainers’ session on digital security on the campus in Dhaka on Friday.
The session was conducted by Sanjay Gathia, programme manager at the Asia Centre, who provided an extensive overview of urgent digital security challenges in today’s media environment, said a press release on Tuesday.
The initiative is part of the CJEN Bangladesh and Asia Centre – a civil society research institute in special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.
Journalism and mass communication faculty members from multiple universities, along with students, attended the session and actively engaged throughout the event.
AJM Shafilul Alam Bhuiyan, adviser to the department of MMC, underscored the growing importance of digital security in the modern era.
Throughout the training, Gathia discussed a wide range of emerging issues, including different types of online frauds, scams, and platform-based threats.
The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment. The programme was hosted by Rani Ellen V Ramos, who ensured smooth coordination and an engaging experience for all attended.
