Former lawmaker for Sirajganj-6 parliamentary constituency Nurul Islam, also known as Chan Mia Talukdar died Monday evening.
He was 92.
Nurul Islam died at about 11:00pm at a hospital in Dhaka. He had been suffering from various old-age complications, said his family members in Sirajganj.
During his long political career, Nurul Islam Talukdar was elected as a Jatiya Party candidate in 1986 and 1988.
He is survived by his wife, son and three daughters.
