The ministry of environment, forest and climate change on Wednesday launched an electronic ticketing system for entry to the National Botanical Garden at Mirpur in Dhaka.
Visitors can now purchase QR code鈥揵ased entry tickets through the state-run myGov digital platform at https://eticketing.mygov.bd/botanical-garden. Tickets can be displayed on a smartphone or printed for entry.
Environment ministry secretary Farhina Ahmed inaugurated the platform at an event held on the garden premises.
According to officials, the system鈥攋ointly implemented by the forest department and a2i, also known as Aspire to Innovate鈥攁llows visitors to buy tickets online from home and choose their preferred visit date.
They said that the use of modern technology would ensure transparency in ticket sales and reduce paper consumption.
The event was chaired by Amir Hossain Chowdhury, chief conservator of forests, and attended by a2i project director Abdur Rafiq, joint secretary, forest wing, Shamima Begum, and officials from the National Zoo and the Bangladesh National Herbarium.
