The three-day Flow Fest Dhaka 2025, presented by United Commercial Bank Ltd, concluded on Saturday, drawing a large crowd of visitors at Justice Shahabuddin Park in Gulshan-2.

‘Around 23,000 visitors attended the festival,’ said Sumaiya Salsabil, public relations and media manager of Flow Fest, a platform promoting holistic well-being that organised the event.

At the festival participants engaged in a wide range of sessions on yoga, meditation, art therapy and storytelling along with a five-kilometre marathon and discussions on sports, mental health and wildlife.

‘I think this kind of festival should happen more often in Dhaka. There are many festivals and fairs here, but hardly any that focus on health,’ said Phew, a participant who joined the fitness and yoga sessions on Saturday.

Another visitor, Israt Ferdous, who has attended every year since the festival began in 2022, said that it helped her to ‘pause, reconnect and heal.’

Flow Fest media manager Sumaiya also said that the festival aimed to introduce and promote holistic wellness and conscious living through diverse practices, such as art therapy, sound healing, yoga, meditation, fitness, breathing exercises and physiotherapy.

‘Many people in our country are unaware that there are various methods and techniques beyond going to the gym,’ she said.

‘We brought together more than 100 local and international coaches to guide participants through different sessions free of cost, so they could explore and choose what suits them best,’ she added.

At the ‘Game changers panel’ discussion, speakers, including Boxing Foundation chairman Adnan Harron, Bangladesh Cricket Board director Amzad Hossain and Turaag Active founder Faiaz Rahman emphasised the growing connection between sports and mental well-being.

They highlighted that true wellness went beyond physical health, encompassing mental, emotional and social balance.

They also stressed the importance of active living and recovery, saying practices like yoga, meditation, and breathwork were essential to maintain peak performance—both in sports and professional life.

According to the Flow Fest platform, the festival is set to go global next year, with the next edition to be held in Dubai from January 31 to February 1, 2026, offering local coaches and vendors an opportunity for international exposure.
