A Bangladesh Nationalist Party leader was found dead under a bridge at Teknaf in Cox鈥檚 Bazar on Wednesday.
The deceased was Yunus Shikdar, convener of Arafat Rahman Koko Krira Sangsad Teknaf upazila unit.
Himel Roy, office-in-charge of Teknaf model police station, said that people of the area spotted the body of Yunus under the bridge on Teknaf-Cox鈥檚 Bazar Road while returning home after fajr prayers and informed the police.
Later, the police recovered the body and sent it to a hospital morgue for an autopsy.
The police are investigating the death.
Cox鈥檚 Bazar district BNP president and former member of the parliament Shahjahan Chowdhury demanded arrest of the killer after identification.
