The National Consensus Commission on Tuesday recommended the interim Government to arrange a referendum following immediate promulgation of the July National Charter Implementation (Reform of Constitution) Order.

At 12:00pm, chief adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus received the recommendation at the state guest house Jamuna in Dhaka.

Briefing journalists at the Foreign Service Academy in the afternoon, the commission vice-chair Professor Ali Riaz said a constitution reform assembly simultaneously with the 13th parliament will be effective to implement the 48 constitution-related reform proposals.

The tenure of the assembly will be 270 days.
