Police recovered the body of a young man from a pond at village Ghiba in Benapole on Monday morning, two days after he went missing.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Alim, 32, son of Shahadat Ali of village Sadipur under Benapole Port Police Station.
Manik Saha, officer-in-charge of Benapole Port Police Station, said local people spotted a floating body in a roadside pond on early Monday and informed police.
Later, police recovered the body.
Quoting the victim鈥檚 brother, Ibrahim Hossain, the OC said Abdul Alim had left his home on Saturday to visit his relatives at village Ghiba.
The body has been sent to Jessore General Hospital morgue for post-mortem examinations.
