The Rapid Action Battalion on Wednesday arrested Naeem Hossain, 20, the prime accused in the case of the October 19 rape of a madrasa student at a restaurant in Kamarkhand Upazila of Sirajganj.
A joint team of RAB-12 Sirajganj and RAB-11 Cumilla arrested Naeem of Charkamarkhand village under Kamarkhand upazila at a location in Cumilla, said a press release issued by RAB-12 on Thursday.
With the latest arrest, the number of arrestees in the rape case now rises to four.
A group of youths picked up the teenage victim from his home in a village under Kamarkhand upazila on October 19, took her to the restaurant, and raped her there.
The bloodstained victim was rescued at night and was admitted to a hospital.聽
The victim鈥檚 mother later filed a rape case accusing six people and the police on October 21 arrested three accused in the case.
