The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell of International Standard University held a seminar titled Make Your Teaching Visible to enhance quality education through faculty development on the ISU campus at Mohakhali in Dhaka on Wednesday.

The event was graced by ISU vice-chancellor Professor Abdul Awal Khan, said a press release.


Professor Ahmed Mustafa, department of biological sciences at Purdue University Fort Wayne, United States, and director of the Life Sciences Resource Centre, attended the seminar as keynote speaker.

Professor Abdul Awal Khan said that the university’s IQAC has been continuously working to enhance the quality of its teachers.

He advised the faculty members to actively engage in quality education and thus, meet the expectations of the students and help students to be good human beings.

Research and teaching are inseparable, said Professor Ahmed Mustafa, adding that a good teacher must also be a good researcher.

‘Otherwise, one remains a lecturer for life,’ he remarked and encouraged teachers to strengthen their research capacity, expand professional networks and sharpen observational skills to build a strong academic career.

The session was chaired by IQAC director Professor Md Ekramul Hoque.

Among others, ISU treasurer Professor HTM Quader Newaz, dean of the faculty of business studies Professor Monjur Morshed Mahmud, dean of the faculty of engineering and technology Professor Md Abul Kashem and additional director of IQAC Monirul Hasan Masum were present at the seminar.
