
Another youth, Md Mishkat, 28, who was injured in an Air Condition explosion at Chattogram Medical College and Hospital, died from his injuries Friday morning while undergoing treatment at the health facility.
Mishkat, a resident of Baharchhara Union in Banshkhali upazila, along with two others outsourcing technicians from Bangladesh Power Development Board received severe burn injuries in an explosion while repairing an AC at the gynaecology ward, seventh floor of the hospital, Monday morning.
The technicians—Shawkat Osman, Mishkat, and Shakhawat—were rushed to the burn unit of the CMCH in critical condition. Shawkat passed away on the same day.
Nurul Alam Ashek, in-charge of the CMCH police outpost, reported that an explosion was caused by an electrical short-circuit while repairing an AC at the gynaecology ward of the hospital.
‘Three youths were injured in the blast. Of them, two died from their injuries while undergoing treatment at the CMCH. The condition of the third one remains critical,’ he added.
