
At least four people drowned in Habiganj and Rangamati districts on Tuesday.
Among the deceased, three children drowned in a pond at a tea garden at Chunarughat upazila in Habiganj at noon.
The victims are Mochkan Akter, 13, daughter of Selim Miah of Ramganga village in Chunarughat upazila, Shamima Akter, 12, daughter of Sajid Ali, and Sania Akter, 9, daughter of Majid Ali of the village, police said.
Attending a wedding ceremony, the victims went to a pond nearby their relative鈥檚 house and drowned. The family members took them to the local upazila health complex, but the attending doctor declared the children dead on arrival, the locals said.
Chunarughat police station officer-in-charge Jahidul Islam confirmed the deaths of the victims to 抖阴精品.聽聽
He also said that the relatives of the victims were trying to get permission of the local administration to bury the bodies without performing post-mortem.
In another incident, a housewife drowned after falling from boat in Kaptai Lake of Bilaichhari in Rangamati on Tuesday, reported Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha.
The deceased is Lata Marma, 32, wife of Milan Kanti Chakma, a resident of Shamukchhari under Kengrachhari union of the upazila.
The housewife went missing after falling from a boat at about 11:00am and the body was recovered from the lake after three hours.
Bilaichhari police station officer-in-charge Manas Barua confirmed the matter.聽聽
