The examination for the 49th special Bangladesh Civil Service was held on Friday in Dhaka city.

The exam was held between 10:00am and 12:00 noon at 184 centres in Dhaka, according to a circular of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission.


A total of 3,12,000 candidates registered for the exam against 683 posts where at least 456 candidates competed against each seat.

Under the special Education BCS, 653 teachers will be appointed at general government colleges, while 30 will be appointed at Government Teachers Training College.

Of these posts, 61 are for Bangla department, 55 for political science, 50 for English, 40 for economics, 32 for Islamic history and culture, and 30 posts for philosophy and chemistry.

Masuma Afreen, exam controller of the BPSC, stated in a circular that the viva-voce of the examinees that would pass the written exam based on multiple-choice-questions was likely to start on October 26.

In special BCS examination, candidates will be evaluated through direct written (MCQ of 200 marks) and oral (100 marks) examinations without preliminary examination, which is somewhat different from the General BCS examination system.
