A 40-year-old woman was electrocuted in Nilphamari Friday morning.
The deceased is Jamila Khatun, wife of Bhutto Mia from Charapar Burirdanga village in Itakhola Union under Nilphamari Sadar upazila.
Locals said that an exposed live electric wire had fallen on the bamboo fence of a duck farm in the area and Jamila was electrocuted when she touched the fence while passing by the farm.
Itakhola Union Parishad chairman Hedayet Ali Shah Fakir confirmed the incident.
