The Bangladesh Army has detected a training camp operated by the armed group known as the Bom Party, which identifies itself as the Kuki National Army, in a remote area of Bandarban’s Ruma upazila.
The camp was detected during a month-long special military operation conducted from July 25 to August 26, 2025, in the remote and uninhabited Rang Tlang region, according to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations.
Army patrol units identified and raided the training site, recovering a significant cache of training and combat materials.
Items seized included wooden rifles used for drills, sniper weapon components, military and cartridge belts, tactical pouches, uniforms, boots, blankets, walkie-talkie chargers, solar panels, food rations and other logistical supplies.
The army also took control of the group’s training ground, firing range, trenches and various other strategic installations.
‘The Bangladesh Army remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all communities in the Chittagong Hill Tracts and will continue to carry out strict military operations against armed groups in the future,’ the ISPR media release said.
