
The American Wellness Center Bangladesh hosted a launch event, unveiling AWC founder Professor Dr Mojibul Haque-written health book titled Susthatar Mulmantra, at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh auditorium in Dhaka on Sunday.
The event also marked the debut of the health news portal Health24.com, said a press release.
Presided over by AWC chairman Md Mahbubul Haque and moderated by AWC adviser Mohammad Imtiaj, the event’s chief guest was health services division secretary Md Saidur Rahman.
Professor Dr Shahjahan Khan, vice-chancellor of Asian University of Bangladesh; Dr Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman, joint secretary of the health services division; Dr Ayesha Akhter, deputy director for TB Hospital; and Islamic scholar Abul Kalam Azad Bashar were also present at the event.
 Several other officials and staff members of the American Wellness Center were also in attendance.
Mojibul Haque, currently a consultant at the Center of Integrative Medicine in the United States, served as the keynote speaker and addressed questions from the audience.
In his new book, Dr Haque emphasises the growing need for preventive healthcare over reliance on medication, outlining how chronic, non-communicable diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease and kidney disorders can be effectively prevented and managed through healthy dietary habits and lifestyle changes.
As part of the seminar, a health documentary and presentation were also showcased, highlighting key aspects of wellness and disease prevention.
