A suspected thief was killed in a lynch-mob attack at village Nepaldighi village in Natore Sadar upazila early Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Nabi Ali, 50, of Bagha upazila of Rajshahi. He had been living at his in-laws’ house in nearby village Islabari for a long time.


Local people said that Nabi Ali stole valuables from the house of one Idris Ali in the village and when he tried to enter the house of Abdul Awal villagers caught him.

They beat him up mercilessly, leaving him dead on the spot.

On information, police recovered the body in the morning.

They sent the body to Natore Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem examinations.

Natore Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge Mahabur Rahman said that they were investigating the death.
