A man was killed and his two brothers seriously injured in a familial clash over dead ducks at Kanaighat in Sylhet.

The deceased, Saidur Rahman, 35, died on Saturday morning at Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.


His brothers, Farid Ahmed, 25, and Abdur Rahman, 29, were still under medical observation.

The attack took place at Shahapur village of Dighirpar East union, when Saidur, Farid and Abdur were returning home after Friday prayers.

They were attacked with knives, sickles and sticks by their uncle, Imran Ahmed, 30, his mother Lechu Begum, and father Rokib Ali, 65.

The dispute began after Farid鈥檚 10 ducks entered Imran鈥檚 field, and 7 died due to pesticide.

The police arrested Rokib Ali and Imran Ahmed.

Abdul Awal, officer-in-charge of Kanaighat police station said that they were searching for others involved, and the deceased鈥檚 family was preparing to file a case.

The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem, he added.
