
Members of the delegation of the International University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom, MH Global Group and Bangladesh University of Professionals held a meeting with Bangladesh University Grants Commission chairman Professor SMA Faiz on transnational education at the UGC in Dhaka on Tuesday.
The meeting discussed in detail the establishment of a branch campus of International University of East Anglia in Bangladesh and the launch of joint or dual degree programmes with Bangladesh University of Professionals and Military Institute of Science and Technology, said a press release on Thursday.
Major General Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, GOC of 66 Infantry Division Rangpur, UGC members Professor Mohammad Anwar Hossain, Professor Masuma Habib, and UGC international cooperation department director Jesmin Pervin were present at the meeting, which was presided over by UGC chairman Professor SMA Faiz.
In addition, the meeting was attended by Professor Steven McGuire, pro-vice-chancellor and vice-president of the International University of East Anglia; Syed Nuh, head of international recruitment; Professor Stephen Laycock, associate dean, admissions, of the faculty of sciences; Lucille Curtis, associate dean, internationalisation, faculty of social sciences; Neil Upton, project director of MH Global Group; and Benjamin Bilverstone, chief operating officer, and Zahirul Islam.
In the meeting, representatives of the International University of East Anglia and MH Global expressed their interest in cooperation and investment in the development of higher education in Bangladesh.
Professor SMA Faiz assured the members of the delegation of providing all kinds of cooperation as per the rules.
