The police arrested a 19-year-old boy Saturday afternoon, hours after he had allegedly raped an 11-year-old girl in the Basabo area under Sabujbagh police station in Dhaka.
The arrestee, Md Rimon, is a garment worker.
Sabujbagh police station inspector (investigation) Mohammad Ismail Hossail Khan said that the victim鈥檚 family filed a case against Rimon over the matter Saturday afternoon.
鈥榃e later arrested the accused. He will be produced before the court later,鈥� he said.
The victim is a student at Daily Ten School, which provides quality education for underprivileged children free of cost.
Daily Ten School founder Md Arifur Rahman told 抖阴精品 that Rimon and the victim were neighbors.
鈥楾he incident occurred at about 6:00am when Rimon found the girl alone and took her to his house by intimidation. He confined the girl for one and a half hours in the room and raped her,鈥� he said.
Quoting the victim鈥檚 mother, Arifur said that the victim later fell ill and told her mother about the incident.
鈥榃e rushed there and went to the police to file a complaint. After filing the case, police arrested the perpetrator,鈥� he said.
He said that the victim was later taken to the One Stop Crisis Centre at Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment.
