
The interim government has formed a nine-member committee led by retired Lieutenant General Abdul Hafiz to review applications of the retired Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy and Bangladesh Air Force personnel, who allegedly faced 鈥榙eprivation, injustice and vendetta during the previous regime between 2009 and August 4, 2024.
The committee has been asked to make recommendations after reviewing the applications from the retired military officers in the next two months, according to an official notification issued by the defence ministry on August 14. The committee would set the last date of filing applications from such military officials by issuing another notification.
A section of retired military officer, who allegedly faced deprivation in services during the time, have been seeking a government move for redress, after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League regime on August 5, 2024 amid a student-led mass uprising.
