Police in separate drives arrested two more suspects in connection with the killing of journalist Asaduzzaman Tuhin in Chowrasta area of Gazipur city.

The arrested are Shah Jalal, 32, and Foysal Hassan.


Based on the information from those arrested earlier in this connection, police arrested Shah Jalal in Gafargaon upazila of Mymensingh district while Foysal raiding Chandona Mahbub School intersection in Gazipur on early Saturday, said Rabiul Hasan, deputy commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police.

With this, seven people have so far been arrested in this connection.

Rabiul Hasan said police arrested Ketu Mizan and his wife Golapi in Bhawanipur area of Dhaka on Friday night. A RAB team arrested Swadhin.

Meanwhile, another team of police arrested Alamin raiding Turag area. Another suspected accused Sumon was arrested in Mymensingh district on Friday, he said.

All of them were produced before the court on Saturday, said Rabiul Hasan.

However, efforts are on to arrest the others involved in the murder.

Tuhin, a staff reporter of Dainik Protidiner Kagoj, was hacked to death in public by a group of armed men near Chowrasta on Thursday night.

Md Selim, brother of the victim, filed a case accusing 20 to 25 unnamed people with Basan Police Station of Gazipur Metropolitan Police, said officer-in-charge Md Shahin Khan.
