A fruit festival has recently been organised to introduce students about the various seasonal fruits at the South Asian Scholars’ School and College at Mirpur in Dhaka.

Principal of the institution Mostafizur Rahman inaugurated the festival, said a press release on Saturday.


South Asian Scholars’ School and College director Noor-e-Alam Azad, Education Watch editor Md Khalilur Rahman and former senior teacher of the school Khadija Sultana were present as guests of honour at the festival.

During the festival, teachers introduced the names and identities of various local fruits and about their nutritional values and benefits to the participating students.

Mostafizur Rahman said, ‘Bangladesh is a country of flowers, crops and fruits. The main objective of the fruit festival is to introduce children to seasonal fruits, exchange experiences and encourage creative work.’

The guardians also expressed their sincere gratitude to the South Asian Scholars’ School and College authorities for such a creative arrangement, added the press release.
