
Former chairman of Southeast Bank PLC Azim Uddin Ahmed died on Friday.
Born on June 30, 1940, Azim Uddin Ahmed was a member of the board of directors and also served as chairman of the board鈥檚 risk management committee, said a press release on Saturday.
A well-known business personality in the country, he was chairman of Mutual Group and AD Holdings Limited, and also served as director and former chairman of Arla Foods Bangladesh Limited.
He was a founding life member of the board of trustees of North South University and was immediate past chairman of the BoT of the NSU.
He was also founding life member of the North South University Foundation.
His contributions to education and social welfare were also remarkable.
In Feni, he established several institutions, including a mosque.
He was also actively involved in various philanthropic and community welfare initiatives.
