An inmate of Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital Thursday morning.
The deceased is Md Palash Ahmed, 26, son of Shahid Uddin of Morohorpur village under Bhaluka police station in Mymensingh.
Jail authorities said that Palash suddenly fell sick inside the prison at around 10:10am.
He was rushed to the emergency department of DMCH for treatment where doctors declared him dead at around 11:30am, said jail guard Mahbubur, who took him to the DMCH from the jail.
The body was kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
