The police recovered the body of a nine-year-old girl, Maymuna, from the rooftop of a mosque at Sarail in Brahmanbaria on Sunday, a day after she had gone missing.

The bloodstained body was found at Hablipara area mosque under Shahbazpur union of Sarail.

Maymona, daughter of expatriate Abdur Razzak of Shahbazpur, went missing Saturday afternoon on her way home from the madrasa.

He also said that there were injury marks on several parts of her body.

‘We suspect that she was killed. The body was sent to the Brahmanbaria government hospital for post mortem examination,’ Morshedul Alam said, adding that the police detained the Imam and Muazzin of the mosque for interrogation.
