
The police in separate raids arrested six more individuals on Green Road in Dhaka, Bhola and Kishoreganj in the past 24 hours for their suspected link to mugging foreign currencies, including 5 lakh Saudi riyals, at Tejgaon Industrial area on July 1.
A joint team of Detective Branch of police and Tejgaon Industrial Area police station arrested Md Abdullah Al Mamun, 25, Md Aryan, 19, Md Sabbir Hossain, 20, Md Zahidul Islam Sohag, 25, Md Joy, 23, and Md Bijoy, 20.
They also seized 1,30,500 looted Saudi riyals, three motorcycles used in the robbery from their possessions.
Deputy commissioner of DB Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed their arrest and seizure.
With the latest arrest, a total of 13 individauls were apprehended in connection with the mugging.
The police earlier arrested seven individuals for their suspected links to the mugging and seized 2,69,240 riyals worth about Tk 88,84,000 from their possessions.
With the latest seizure, the police have so far seized around 4 lakh riyals.
The arrested are Md Tuhin, 28, Talha Noor, 35, Sharmin, 25, Md Shahin Sikder, 37, Yasin Arafat, 36, Md Rafiqul Islam, 36, and Md Shuvo Hawlader, 25.
