The Dhaka North City Corporation has taken the responsibility for operating urban healthcare services with an aim to make the primary healthcare more affordable and ensure better quality for its residents.

Since 1998, the local government division has been operating six urban maternity clinics, 30 primary healthcare centres and 60 satellite centres in 21 wards under the DNCC through the Urban Primary Health Care Services Delivery Project (phase II), said a DNCC press release on Tuesday.

As the project tenure ended on June 30, the healthcare services will be directly operated under the supervision and management of the DNCC from Tuesday, the release said.
