
At least six people, including a child, were killed and 17 others injured in separate road accidents in Munshiganj, Magura and Manikganj on Saturday.
抖阴精品 Correspondent in Munshiganj reported that four people, including three leaders and activists of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, were killed and at least 15 others injured as a bus collided with a mini truck on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in Sreenagar area of the district early Saturday.
The diseased are Jashore鈥檚 Noapara Union IAB president Md Jalal, 65, the party鈥檚 activists Jillur Rahman, 65, and Abdul Alim, 55, and bus helper Md Ashik, 32.
Hashara highway police station officer-in-charge Abdul Quader Jilani said that the IAB followers were on the way to attend the party鈥檚 grand rally in the Dhaka鈥檚 Suhrawardy Udyan.
The accident left Jalal and Jillur dead on the spot while Alim and Ashik died to their injuries in Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
OC Jilani said that police recovered the bodies and sent 15-16 injured to the DMCH for treatment.
Police seized both vehicles but the drivers fled the scene.
In Magura, a man was killed and two others were injured as a private car collided head-on with a rickshaw in Alomkhali area of Sadar upazila, reported Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha.
The deceased is rickshaw driver Tayab Ali, 60.
The accident took place at around 2.30pm, leaving Tayab and two passengers injured, said Magura highway police station OC Alamgir Kabir.
Locals rescued and sent them to Magura 250-bed hospital where the on-duty doctors declared Tayab dead.
Meanwhile, a third-grade student of Quince School was killed in a road accident in Manikganj, another BSS report said.
The deceased is Al-Din, 9.
Manikganj Sadar police station sub-inspector Shahinur Islam said that the accident occurred at noon when a truck hit the boy, leaving him critically injured.
The child was rushed to Manikganj Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead, the SI added.
