After a 10-day holiday for Eid-ul-Azha all government and non-government offices, banks and factories reopened on Sunday.

The holidaymakers continued their return journeys on the day while the capital has regained its busy appearance at the offices and roads.


Eid-ul-Azha, one of the largest religious festivals of Muslims, was celebrated in the country on June 7.

The 10-day holiday began on June 5.

Since Sunday morning in Dhaka office goers were seen going to their workplaces.

In the morning officials and employees of Bangladesh Secretariat were seen at their offices.

The secretariat on the first day after reopening was not seen much busy.聽

The busy intersections of the capital, including Farmgate, Karwan Bazar and Shahbagh were seen crowded by buses, cars, motorcycles and CNG run auto-rickshaws.

Meanwhile since morning a huge number of people were seen returning Dhaka by trains, launches and buses.

The Dhaka rail station at Kamalapur and Sadarghat launch terminal were seen busy as one after another overloaded trains and launches returned these places from different districts of the country.

抖阴精品 correspondent in Tangail reported that in the morning no major traffic gridlock was seen on the Dhaka-Tangail-Jamuna Bridge highway.

In Sirajganj, at Kodda crossing many people were seen riding on trucks and pick up vans towards Dhaka as they failed to secure bus tickets.
