
A workshop titled BRDB and Grassroots Development: Strengthening Rural Economy’ was held at the headquarters of Bangladesh Rural Development Board in Dhaka on Monday.
Rural Development and Cooperatives Department’s secretary for routine responsibilities Md Ismail Hossain was present as chief guest at the workshop, which was presided over by BRDB director general for routine responsibilities, said a press release.
Ismail Hossain said that according to the BBS survey, BRDB’s contribution to GDP is 1.93 per cent. ‘BRDB’s contribution to GDP should be further increased.’
He also urged all participants at the workshop to take multifaceted initiatives to accelerate BRDB’s activities and contribute to the rural economy.
Also present in the workshop were joint secretary of the planning commission, director of IMED, senior officials of the Rural Development and Cooperatives Department and director, joint director, deputy director and assistant directors of BRDB.
