The detective branch of police arrested the ringleader of an organised gang Md Sagar Ali, 40, along with huge forged public documents at Uttara in Dhaka on Thursday.
A team of Uttara DB arrested Sagar in a raid at house number 25, road number 14, Sector 3, Uttara around 5:25, deputy commissioner of DB Muhammad Talebur Rahman said.
During the operation, huge quantity of fake certificates, stamps, seals, forms and other equipment of various universities and institutions were seized from Sagar鈥檚 possession.
Sagar has long been involved in forging important documents of the state and various educational institutions, including certificates of various universities, police clearance, and birth and citizenship certificates.
A case was lodged in this connection.
