Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti president Jyotirindra Bodhipriya Larma, widely known as Santu Larma, crossed into India through the Akhaura check post early Saturday afternoon on a personal visit.
However, he did not tell journalists at the check post about the purpose of his visit to India.
The PCJSS leader鈥檚 personal assistant, Shamol Larma, said that Santu Larma had maintained a good relationship with India for a long time and often visited the country.
鈥楬e often visits the country for personal reasons and medical treatment. Today he is going for a personal purpose,鈥� he added.
However, he could not confirm when Larma would return.
Akhaura police officer-in-charge for investigation Shahinur Islam and immigration police in-charge Sohel Mahmud were also present, among others, during his immigration process.
