
Citizen鈥檚 Platform for SDGs, Bangladesh on Tuesday proposed for a high level committee for the modernisaion of the technical education.
At a media briefing, Centre for Policy Dialogue distinguished fellow and convener of the platform
Debapriya Bhattacharya also said that even during the period of the current interim government, which was formed following the anti-discrimination movement led by the students, the education sector remained neglected as earlier.
The government needs to reform the technical and vocational education immediately for meeting the demands of the advancing world, he further said.
He added that in the upcoming 2025-2026 fiscals the government should increase the budget allocation for the technical education sector.
Earlier on March 23, the platform sent the proposal on formation of the high level committee to the education adviser professor Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar.
The briefing, titled Technical and Vocational Education in Bangladesh: Present Situation and Reform Ideas, was held at the CPD office in the capital on the day.
CPD distinguished fellow and the platform core group member professor Mustafizur Rahman was also present at the programme among others.
