
The minimum and maximum Fitra rate for 2025 have been fixed at Tk 110 and Tk 2,805 respectively for each person.
The decision was taken at the National Sadakatul Fitra Fixation Committee meeting at the conference room of the Islamic Foundation in Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka Tuesday morning.
Fitra, a donation, is paid by the well-off Muslims to poor prior to offering Eid-ul-Fitr prayers.
Last year, the minimum amount of Fitra was fixed at Tk 115 and a maximum at Tk 2,970 per person.
President of National Fitra Fixing Committee and Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Mufti Abdul Maleque presided over the meeting, said an Islamic Foundation press release.
As per the Islamic law, the Fitra can be paid with any other food items like flour, barley, raisins, dates and cheese.
‘The Fitra has been fixed as per the current market price of flour, barley, dates, raisin and cheese collected from all the divisions,’ read the release
The Muslims can pay the Fitra according to his financial capacity with any particular item or the current market price of these food items.
Members of Islamic Foundation board of governors Syed Mohammad Mosaddeque Billah Al Madani, Khalilur Rahman Madani, Shah Mohammad Nesarul Huq, Islami Arabic University dean Professor Waliullah, Islamic Foundation secretary Mohammad Ismail Hossen, Islamic Foundation director Mohammad Touhidul Anawar and other Islamic scholars, among others, attended the meeting.
