
A four-day Hill Fair and Youth Festival 2025 began on Wednesday to promote the products and culture of the national minorities residing in the Chattogram Hill Tracts region, comprising Rangamati, Bandarban and Khagrachari, of Bangladesh.
The fair, organised by the Ministry of CHT Affairs, will remain open from 9:00am to 10:00pm until February 1 at the CHT Complex ground on Bailey Road in Dhaka.
A total of 80 stalls featuring agricultural products, traditional clothes, jewellery, food and handicrafts have been set up on the fair premises.
Besides, the fair will feature cultural programmes from 6:00pm to 10:00pm.
The CHT affairs ministry adviser Supradip Chakma, power, energy and mineral resources ministry adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan and posts, telecommunications and information technology ministry adviser Nahid Islam inaugurated the event.
The CHT affairs adviser Supradip stressed the importance of ensuring quality education in the hill areas and the development of the region鈥檚 tourism industry.
Six athletes from national minority groups were honoured on the inaugural day.
