
Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology held a fresher’s reception of winter and spring semesters on its campus in Uttara, Dhaka on Saturday.
Ten Minute School founder and chief executive officer Ayman Sadiq was present as chief guest at the programme, which was presided
over by the SMUCT vice-chancellor Professor Md Shah-e-Alam, said a press release.
This moment is a special moment for me. Because I am standing in front of a young force who wants to change a country, said Ayman Sadiq, mentioning that the students of private universities had played a vital role in the July-August student-led mass uprising.
Chairman of the board of trustees of the university, renowned painter Professor Mostafizul Haque, said to the students, ‘I sincerely thank and congratulate you because the vehicle you have
embarked on in the journey of building an enlightened career will undoubtedly complete a qualitative and meaningful higher education journey in time and reach your destination of success.’
Among others, the programme was attended by chairman of Shanto-Mariam Foundation and Sundarban Courier Service and member of the SMUCT board of trustees Ahsanul Kabir, treasurer Professor Shamsun Nahar, Chinese and Bangladeshi directors of Shanto-Mariam Honghe Confucius Classroom, Jangshi Flip and Mohiuddin Taher, and SMUCT registrar Par Mosiur Rahman along with deans and heads of various departments, teachers and officials of the university.
Artistes from the university’s music department and cultural forum enthralled the audience with captivating music and dance performances, added the press release.
