
Local government and youth and sports adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan on Thursday said that the people involved in the conspiracy to fail Bangladesh’s interim government would not be spared.
‘The conspirators are not stopping,’ he said, adding, ‘The person or people who are involved in this conspiracy hatched to fail us will not be spared.’
He said this during visiting the building no – 7 in the secretariat after the fire incident on Thursday, said a press release issued by the local government, rural development and co-operatives ministry.
‘We were working to identify the corruption and embezzlement of funds of the local government ministry,’ he said and added that, ‘Evidence of embezzlement of several thousand crores of taka was also found.’
The adviser also said that the amount of the losses due to the damages had yet to be determined.
He directed the formation of a probe committee from the ministry.
Before that, he postponed his programme in the northern areas of the country.
