The Bangladesh Public Service Commission on Monday decided to republish the results of the 46th Bangladesh Civil Service examination.

The commission also cancelled the viva voce of 3,930 candidates under the 44th BCS exam, and announced the reevaluation of the answer sheets for the written test under the 45th BCS exam by third examiners.


The PSC took the decisions at the first meeting of the commission led by its newly appointed chairman, Professor Mobasser Momen, said a press release.

According to the release, the commission discussed all issues related to the suspected leak of question papers for the 44th, 45th, and 46th BCS exams and various non-cadre exams.

The commission took the following decisions in the interest of maintaining transparency, fairness, and impartiality of the examinations, it said.

The results of the preliminary examination of the 46th BCS were published on May 9, and from there 10,638 candidates were selected for the written examination.

The commission took the decision to announce the results of the exam again by considering more candidates for the written exams along with the already selected candidates.

The PSC also decided to cancel the partial oral examination of 3,930 candidates of the 44th BCS that was held during the term of the previous commission and conduct the viva of all the 11,732 candidates who passed the written examination.

Out of 11,732 candidates who passed its written examination, 3,930 candidates passed the oral examination on July 18, 2024.

About the 45th BCS exam, the PSC said that the evaluation of its written examination answer sheets was in progress and the evaluation by the second examiner was nearing completion.

In order to maintain transparency and fairness in the evaluation of written examination answer sheets, the new commission had decided to send all the answer sheets to the third examiners.

The PSC is also examining and reviewing the written examinations held for the non-cadre post of Bangladesh Railway (assistant engineer).
