A body of an assistant sub-inspector was recovered one day after he went missing from the River Padma during an attack allegedly by some miscreants at Kumarkhali upazila in Kushtia early Monday.
The deceased ASI is Sadrul went missing along with another ASI Mukul after being attacked on their boat that sank in the Padma near Char Shadipur area.
Officer-in-chargeo f Kumarkhali Thana Nazrul Islam said that divers recovered Sadrul鈥檚 body at about 3:00pm on Tuesday from the river in Shilaidaha area. 鈥楢nother ASI Mukul who belonged to Kumarkhali Thana is still missing,鈥� the OC added.
Search operation was going on in the Padma. Police personnel were present at the spot when the rescue operation was conducted.
