A five-member delegation led by Fujiang Yu, director general of National Marine Environmental Forecasting Centre of China, called on Dhaka University pro-vice-chancellor (academic) Professor Mamun Ahmed at the VC鈥檚 meeting room of the university on Thursday.

During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interests specially the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programmes on ocean science, marine forecasting and disaster management between the DU and the National Marine Environmental Forecasting Centre of China.


The possibilities of establishing a joint forecasting centre at Dhaka University was also discussed in the meeting.

They stressed the need for enhancement of ongoing joint master鈥檚 and PhD programmes between the two institutions to promote education and research.

Mamun Ahmed thanked the guests for their visit to the DU U and keen interest in its academic and research activities.

Other team members were Jianxi Dong, Dakui Wang, Yuanyong Gao and Zongchen Wang.
