Muhammad Abu Sufiyan joined Rajshahi Metropolitan Police as its 32nd Commissioner on Saturday.

Prior to his new assignment, he was posted in the Tourists Police in Dhaka.


On his first day at work, he addressed a special welfare meeting at the police lines drill shed giving direction for ensuring people-friendly policing with professionalism, sincerity and honesty.

He also gave directional speech related to carrying out duties properly, particularly what is to be done and what cannot be done.

Additional Commissioners Rashidul Hassan and Hemayetul Islam and other officers concerned were present on the occasion.

Born in a respectable Muslim family in Feni, Abu Sufiyan joined police services through 17th BCS in 1998. He obtained his master's degree from Dhaka College in 2003 and MPA degree in human resources management from the Bangladesh Institute of Governance and Management in 2016.
