
Major changes were made in portfolios of advisers to Bangladesh’s interim government after four new advisers were sworn in on Friday.
Wahiduddin Mahmud has been given the charges of the Ministry of Planning and the Ministry of Education while Ali Imam Majumder has been attached to the Chief Adviser’s Office, according to a handout of the Chief Adviser’s Office.
Muhammad Fawzul Kabir Khan has been given the charges of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges and the Ministry of Railways, while Lt. Gen. (Retired ) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has been given the charges of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Agriculture.
Of the existing advisers, Salehuddin Ahmed was given the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Commerce.
Dr Asif Nazrul was given the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
Adilur Rahman Khan was given the Ministry Industries and the Ministry of Housing and Public Works.
Syeda Rizwana Hasan was given the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Ministry of Water Resources.
Md Nahid Islam was given the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan was given the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Brigadier General (retired) M Sakhawat Hossain was given the Ministry of Textiles and Jute.
Farooq-e-Azam was given the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs and the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.
The handout said that charges of other advisers would remain unchanged.
