
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University’s pro-Awami League doctors’ organisation Swadhinata Chikitshak Parishad paid tribute to the founding president of the country Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the assassinated of August 15, 1975 at the university on Thursday, said a press release.
On the occasion of the mourning month of August, the tribute was offered with the view to overcome the ongoing crisis and turn national grief into strength to counter the forces of evil by placing wreath at his mural on the university.
Remembering Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, their youngest son Sheikh Russel, and all the killed people of August 15, the BSMMU vice-chancellor Professor Dr Deen Mohd Noorul Huq said that the existence of the country would be in crisis if prime minister Sheikh Hasina was not in power.
Mentioning that the country cannot be imagined for a second without Sheikh Hasina, they must stand united under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina in this month of August.
Mentioning that there are conspiracies against the present government both at home and abroad, dean of the University Professor Dr Mohammad Hossain said that when the month of August came, the defeated forces of 1971 started a conspiracy against the government that believed in the spirit of the War of Independence.
BSMMU pro-VC (administration) prof Dr Saif Uddin Ahmed, pro-VC (research and development) prof Dr Md Moniruzzaman Khan, pro-VC (academic)Â prof Dr Mohammad Atiqur Rahman, registrar prof Dr ABM Abdul Hannan, dean of the faculty of surgery prof Dr Mohammad Hossain, among others, were present at the programme.
