The Entomology Division and Agronomy Division of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute organised a training event on developing laboratory skills of sub-assistant agriculture officers of the Department of Agricultural Extension at the BARI Entomology Division Seminar Room in Gazipur on Monday.

Twenty sub-assistant agriculture officers participated in the event, which was funded by the DAE project titled ‘Conversion of Plant Protection Laboratory in Central Packing House to International Standard Laboratory (1st Revised)’.


Director general of the DAE Badal Chandra Biswas was present as chief guest at the session, which was presided over by director general of BARI Debasish Sarker.

BARI director, training and communication, Tariqul Islam; chief scientific officer, agronomy division, Ferdousi Begum and chief scientific officer, entomology division, Nirmal Kumar Dutta were present at the training session.

Senior scientists from various divisions of BARI were also present at the event, which was conducted by senior scientific officer, training and communication, Md Emran Khan Chowdhury.
