
Law minister Anisul Huq told Jatiya Sangsad on Monday that the number of pending cases with courts across the country was around 37.29 lakh.
Among these cases, 15.96 lakh were civil cases and 21.32 lakh criminal cases, the minister informed the parliament.
Anisul Huq disclosed this while replying a query from the ruling Awami League lawmaker AK Abdul Momen.
Earlier, the parliament went into sitting with speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
In response to another question of AL lawmaker Mahbub ur Rahman, the law minister said that from June 10, 2021 to April 28, 2024, 1.10 lakh documents had been registered in the e-registration system in 17 sub-registry offices.
In response to another question of AL lawmaker Nurunnabi Chowdhury, public administration minister Farhad Hossain said that through 40th, 41st and 43rd BCS, a total of 7,447 people had been recommended for non-cadre (9th-12th grade) posts.
