At least three people, including two children, were killed in separate road accidents in Munshiganj, Chattogram and Jaipurhat on Saturday.

抖阴精品 Munshiganj correspondent reported that a six year-old child was killed as an auto-rickshaw overturn at Shimulia crossing of Lauhajang upazila鈥檚 Padma Bridge (North) police station Saturday afternoon.


The deceased was identified as Shanta, daughter of Md Shakil of Barishal鈥檚 Hijla upazila.

The accident took place when the auto-rickshaw, carrying Shanta and her parents, overturned at Shimulia crossing at about 1:45pm, leaving them injured, said police.聽

Later, local people recovered them from the spot and rushed to Srinagar upazila health complex where on-duty doctor declared Shanta dead.

Padma Bridge (North) police station inspector (investigation) Joynal Abedin said that they had handed over the body to the family.

Meanwhile, another child killed in a road crash in Katgar area of Patenga thana in the port city Saturday afternoon, our correspondent in Chattogram reported.

The deceased was identified as 1.5-year-old Taslima Hasan Tayaba, daughter of Hasan of Kazir Goli area of EPZ thana.

Confirming the matter, Patenga police station officer-in-charge M Kabirul Islam said that Tayaba, along with her parents, was visiting relatives with an auto-rickshaw. On their way, a lorry hit the auto-rickshaw at about 12:20pm, leaving her critically injured.

Later, locals rushed her to Chittagong medical college hospital where on-duty doctors declared her dead, the OC added.

The deceased was identified as Mahbubur Rahman, 32, a resident at Joyhar village of the upazila.

Panchbibi police station sub-inspector Masum said that Mahbubur died as a tractor hit his motorcycle in front of Panchbibi Degree College at te noon.

Police seized the tractor and a case was filed in this regard, SI Masum added.
