Chittagong University marked its 60th founding anniversary with a series of events, including a rally, cake cutting, and a discussion ceremony, on Tuesday.
CU acting vice-chancellor for academic Professor Mohammad Shamim Uddin Khan inaugurated the celebration by releasing balloons and festoons at 10:00am at Smaran Chattar on the campus, said a press release.
Later, a colourful rally paraded different parts of the campus before concluding in front of the administrative building.
The cake-cutting ceremony was held at 10:30am, followed by a discussion at 11:15am at the social sciences faculty auditorium and a cultural event at 3:00pm.
The discussion was chaired by Professor Mohammad Al-Amin, dean of the faculty of science and convener of the 60th University Day Celebration Committee.
