
United International University organised a programme titled Future of AI and Cyber Security: Government-Academia-Industry Conclave 2025 on the UIU campus in Dhaka on Saturday.
More than 250 key technology professionals, distinguished experts, policymakers, researchers and industry leaders engaged in practical discussions on the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence and cyber security in Bangladesh, said a press release.
The programme opened with two keynote presentations made by Professor Khondaker A Mamun, director, MSCSE programme and IRIIC, UIU; and Professor Shohrab Hossain, department of CSE, UIU; on artificial intelligence and cyber scurity, respectively.
Keynote speeches were followed by a panel discussion titled Industry-Academia-Government Dialogue on AI and cyber security, which explored the opportunities and challenges of AI and cyber-security integration in Bangladesh.
It included contributions from leading figures representing government institutions, academic bodies, and industry sectors—Imadur Rahman, managing director and CEO, Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited; Nurul Hai, MD, Startup Bangladesh; Shariful Alam, CEO, Felicity IDC Limited; Anika Ali, director, Techno Green Carbon Limited; SAR Md Muinul Islam, PMP, CTO and director, LankaBangla Securities Plc along with academicians.
Mohammad Wahid Hossain, chairman, Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council; Md Sibgat Ullah, additional inspector general, chief of Criminal Investigation Department, Bangladesh Police; Mashrur Arefin, MD and CEO, The City Bank Limited and chairman, Association of Bankers Bangladesh; and M Rezwan Khan, professor emeritus, UIU and chairman, Power Grid Bangladesh, were present as guests of honour at the event.
Professor Md Abul Kashem Mia, vice-chancellor, UIU, presided over the programme.
