
The Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology held its first international TEDx licensed event TEDxCUET with the theme ‘resilience: rising beyond limits’ at the central auditorium of CUET in Chattogram on Saturday.
The guest speaker was Professor Saleh Hasan Naqib, vice-chancellor of Rajshahi University, while CUET VC Professor Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan spoke as chief patron, said a press release.
In addition, various orientation speeches were delivered by Md Jahangir Alam, former VC of CUET, USTC and RUET and professor of the department of civil engineering of CUET; Professor Adnan Mannan, department of genetic engineering and biotechnology, University of Chittagong; and Muhammad Imadur Rahman, manager and CEO of Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited.
Md Abu Moazzem Hossain, deputy director of CUET Student Welfare, Delivered the welcome speech at the programme.
The organiser of the programme was Obaidullah Afzal, a fourth-year student of the department of computer science and engineering, and co-organiser was Adil Raihan.
The programme was hosted by Tanaem Mohammad Tanim, Adid Rahman, a fourth-year student of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Zarif Mohtasim, a third-year student of the same department.
It is worth noting that this event included innovative ideas, inspiring speeches, networking, discussions by experts on various topics, and exchange of experiences. More than 200 students of CUET participated in it.
