
Prime Bank PLC, a leading financial institution in Bangladesh, has disbursed open agri loans to farmers at Madhukhali upazila of Faridpur as part of its continuous efforts to accelerate the growth and development of Bangladesh’s agriculture sector.
The loan disbursement ceremony took place on Tuesday with the participation of around 150 farmers.
During the event, Prime Bank recognised and honoured eight farmers with crests for their exemplary record of timely loan repayment.
The program was graced by the presence of T M Forhad Reza Jewel, additional director of Agricultural Credit Department, Bangladesh Bank; Md Abu Rasel, upazila nirbahi officer; Md Mahbub Elahi, agricultural extension officer; M Nazeem A Choudhury, deputy managing director of Prime Bank PLC; Shahana Parvin, SVP and head of Agri Business; Tarikul Hasan, vice president and zonal head; the manager of Madhukhali Branch along with other senior officials of the Bank.
Speaking on the occasion, M Nazeem A Choudhury, deputy managing director of Prime Bank, said, ‘The agriculture sector plays a significant role in ensuring food security, generating employment and alleviating poverty. Prime Bank is always committed to promoting farmers’ financial inclusion. At present, the Bank is supporting farmers through its specialized agricultural loan schemes- ‘Abad’ for crop production, Khamar for farm management and ‘Nabanna’ for the purchase of agricultural machinery. In continuation of this effort, Prime Bank has undertaken the initiative to disburse loans among farmers in this region.’
Through this initiative, Prime Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to contributing to the sustainable development of Bangladesh’s agriculture sector.
